Making It Happen: HEALTHY EATING AT SCHOOL
Healthy Eating At School is one of the ActNow BC initiatives aimed at encouraging healthy eating at school. It is a partnership between BC Dairy Foundation, BC Ministry of Healthy Living & Sport and Knowledge: (formerly Knowledge Network). It is designed to be THE ONE-STOP SHOP where school communities can find all the resources they need to implement nutrition policy at school.

ActionSchools BC!
Action Schools! BC is an ActNowBC initiative to promote healthy living in BC school. This program is a best practices model designed to assist schools in creating individualized action plans to promote healthy living. Action Schools support increased opportunities for more children to make healthy choices more often.

FARM to SCHOOL SALAD BAR
In the spring of 2007, Northern Health funded a Community Food Action Initiative pilot project to connect farms and school through a salad bar at Dragon Lake Elementary School in Quesnel, BC.. The pilot was hugely successful and led to a provincially supported pilot program which involved more schools across Northern and Interior Health. Excitement continues to grow in schools as children develop a closer connection and access to locally sourced ingredients for the salad bars.
